In a groundbreaking initiative, the Bangkok Community Help Foundation embarks on a transformative mission to combat the pervasive issue of plastic waste within the marginalized communities of Klong Toey. With a vision to empower and uplift, the foundation has devised a multifaceted approach that not only addresses the environmental challenges posed by single-use plastics but also provides economic opportunities for residents.

Through collaboration the plastic waste is bought directly from the communities, incentivizing residents to actively participate in the collection and sale of their single-use plastic waste. What was once considered mere trash is now seen as a valuable resource. As a starting point: Bangkok Community Help Foundation together with its partners have set 10 THB per every KG of single-use plastic in a revolutionary bid to battle the plastic waste problem in lower-income communities. As of present, the Foundation is collecting about 200 KG of waste per day. The waste is then converted back into bio-fuel through a process called Pyrolysis.

By harnessing the power of community engagement and innovative recycling techniques, this initiative not only cleans up the local environment but also generates income and fosters a sense of pride and ownership among residents.
